Scottish knitwear brand celebrates first retail residency in the heart of Edinburgh

Woolkind founder and chief knitter Laurence Di Sotto welcomed guests to a launch event this week, opening the doors to the stylish Shop With No Name on Broughton Place. Open seven days a week until Sunday 23rd November, shoppers can browse the garments and colours available, or place orders for bespoke items - perfect timing to find Christmas gifts that will last a lifetime, or to treat yourself to an accessory to cherish for years to come.

This is the antithesis of fast fashion. Everything's made in small batches or to order, with limited edition colours and designs, and customisable with your choice of colours and patterns. The full collection is designed and made in Edinburgh, using the highest quality merino wool that’s fully traceable and spun like cashmere to ensure that every piece feels great to wear.

Founder Laurence Di Sotto has a vision to create knitwear for life, not just one season. Taught to knit at an early age by his Scottish grandmother, Di Sotto designs simple, timeless shapes that last, can be styled effortlessly and will add a pop of colour to any outfit. The unique level of customisation gives customers the opportunity to choose their own colour combinations to suit their style, creating bespoke, inclusive knitwear with an accessible price tag.

Whether you fancy no-fuss neutrals, clashing colours or subtle soft stripes, there's something to suit everyone, and every body - Woolkind celebrates the joy of diversity, individuality and size inclusivity. The brand’s ethical supply chain means that everything is fully traceable and (beautifully) wrapped in compostable packaging.

Commenting on the studio launch, Laurence Di Sotto said, “I’m really excited to see my lifelong vision for a truly sustainable and inclusive knitwear brand come to life - one that brings a little joy, a little colour, and a sense of self-expression to a world of cookie cutter fashion. We took a big step forward this year with the launch of our first garment - gender-neutral merino wool vests. Each is made to order, with size, length and colour combination adjusted for each customer. They’ve quickly become a bestseller alongside our skinny stripe scarves and we plan to expand the range further next year with a complete ‘build your own’ sweater concept to create a fully inclusive collection.”
