Moray's Brilliantly Brave Beats Industry Giants to Reach Henries Awards Final

Scottish Publisher Secures Six Nominations in First Year of Trading
In a remarkable David versus Goliath scenario, Moray-based greeting card publisher Brilliantly Brave has secured a coveted final six spot at the prestigious Henries Awards, often dubbed the 'Oscars of the greeting card industry'. The fledgling Scottish publisher's 'Gratitude Galore' range competing in the hotly contested 'Best Contemporary Trend' category, marking them as the sole Scottish finalist amongst industry heavyweights.
The Henries, a cornerstone event in the UK greeting card industry, saw fierce competition this year with over 300 publishers submitting more than 2,000 designs. Brilliantly Brave, barely six months old, had six ranges shortlisted across five categories:
- Gratitude Galore - Finalist, Best Contemporary Trend
- Bobcut Boosts - Shortlisted, Best Diversity & Inclusion
- Cheerful Chapters - Shortlisted, Best Cute Range
- Woolly Wisdom - Shortlisted, Best Photographic Range
- Beastie Besties - Shortlisted, Best Male Range
- Positive Posies - Shortlisted, Best Contemporary Trend
"To go from our kitchen table in Moray to the finals of the Henries in just over six months is mind-blowing," says Stuart Cox, co-founder of Brilliantly Brave. "It's a testament to the power of purpose-driven design and the incredible support we've received from our local community right here in Moray and the greetings community across the UK."
Brilliantly Brave stands out not just for its designs, but for its innovative business model. The company reinvests 100% of its profits into local mental health initiatives, effectively turning greeting cards into catalysts for community wellbeing.
Co-founder and mental health expert Jean Pryde adds, "This recognition isn't just about beautiful cards - it's vindication of our mission to transform well-wishes into tangible mental health support. The judging panel includes buyers from the UK's leading retailers, so to get this kind of validation so early in our journey is incredible."
