Hi there! I’m Claire, the creator behind Peat Design.

I live in the Highlands, just north of Inverness, in the small Ross-shire town of Evanton.  After spending over a decade in the United States, I returned home with a strong creative drive resulting in the start-up of Peat in 2019. 

Everywhere I have lived, (be it the rustic mountains of West Virginia, the ever-changing post-industrial Brooklyn, NYC, or the disjointed suburbs of Chicago) has left its mark on the designs I create and adds to Peat’s eclectic style.

For me, it’s about contrasts—straight lines meeting sharp angles, quiet moments meeting busy streets, nature meeting city life. 

Peat jewellery is minimal and geometric, but the designs are also full of fluid movement—capturing the ebb and flow of life, the twists and turns that come with change and connection.

Peat’s jewellery reflects how our paths often curve and intersect, sometimes in unexpected ways.  Each piece is a reminder that even in simplicity, there’s always room for movement, growth, and new connections.
