Bigjigs® Toys was established in 1985 by the current directors, Liz and Peter Ireland. Initially the company only produced jigsaw puzzles, which were lovingly handmade, cut, painted and packed in the garden shed. These jigsaw puzzles were sold at a weekly weekend market in Covent Garden, London, making it the only sales outlet for Bigjigs® products at the time. Customers loved the jigsaw puzzles and wanted to see the range extended, so Bigjigs® broadened their product range to magnets, wellie pegs, pencil holders, door plaques and coat hooks.
Today, Bigjigs® Toys remains a family-owned and run business and occupies 40,000 sq ft of warehousing in Southeast England. The company continues to supply a broad customer base of Toy and Gift retailers in the U.K. and western Europe in the very same way as those early days. Supported by a loyal, dedicated and hard working team of staff, the Company strives to provide an increasing customer base with British designed wooden toys and gifts manufactured in a variety of U.K, Eastern European and Southeast Asian factories. The Folkestone offices are the headquarters of the Company and are supported by additional offices for E.U. customers in Utrecht and Poznan. Bigjigs® Toys U.S.A, based in Grantsville, Maryland fulfils the requirements of all U.S. based customers, while our trusted distributors supply Bigjigs® Toys to Australia, South Africa and other countries.
