The Shoal

The Shoal finds and imports beautiful handmade marine wall art from Sicily and Italy, unique ceramic fish and other creatures, selling direct to the public and into retail, leisure, hospitality and marine sectors as well as bespoke commissions. All products are made and painted by hand, 'fatto a mano' in Italian.

The business was founded in November 2020 and we were delighted to visit the artists' facility in Sicily for the first time in June 2022.  We have built up a direct public customer base in the UK along with a retailer base of stockists in southern England and Scotland.

Based near the sea in Lyme Regis, Dorset, The Shoal has developed a professional, trusting and friendly relationship with the artists in Sicily, partnering with them exclusively to launch their range of ceramic fish and other marine art to markets in the UK.   

The quality of the making, the colours, finish and the glaze is world class.  Because each piece is handmade, each is unique and when a customer chooses a selection of fish, 'A Shoal', then their choice is also unique.  These are the intrinsic values in our products and it is the basis upon which we are building our business.

The Shoal is a start-up that aims to be different.  Starting and surviving in the worst economic environment in decades makes us determined to continue to grow and enter new markets with new unique pieces.  We have quite a Story bringing us to this point, please come and visit our stand to find out more.
