I mostly work from my own reference photos it makes a difference when you’ve had that experience of capturing them seeing how they move. I have a fun yet real style working in watercolour inks and pen using the natural colours of an animal. Then using subtle purples, plum and reds to make marks to show the movement in the fur, sagging of the skin or smoothness of the tusks.
