The technique of Chasing & Repousse is thought to date back to 2000 BC. The process involves the metal being embossed by hand made tools. The tools are hammered into the metal which is supported by a resin-like material called pitch. The creates gives metal three-dimensionality and creates texture across the surface.

The technique is rhythmical and meditative with the repeating hammering action. I visualise every tap as a record of a moment in time, making each marking completely unique.
