No one knows exactly why some Rainbow Trout migrate to the sea to become Steelheads, and others remain in fresh water. At sea they grow much bigger, leaner and more athletic, akin to salmon.  Sea-reared trout develop a unique flavour, sweeter and more delicate than salmon.  Our Steelhead trout is reared on a family owned farm off the west coast of Scotland in the nutrient rich waters of the Inner Hebrides.
